About Krakow (KRK) Airport

Krakow (KRK) Airport or John Paul II International Airport Krakow-Balice is an international airport in Poland (the southern part), located close to Krakow, an important town of this country. It is the second largest airport in Poland with a capacity of 1.3 million passengers per year. But this is only an annual estimation which was far outweighed in 2007 when over 3 million of people used Krakow Airport, capacity which represents only 15 percent of all air traffic in this country. The airport is particularly known as Balice Airport and is operated by 2 terminals: T1 for the international flights and T2 for the domestic ones.
In 1964, Krakow (KRK) Airport begins to be used for aviation, especially for civil aviation because the location of the airport was transformed into a military site for four years. After this period, an important attention was brought to passenger and the construction of the first passenger terminal took shape in that place. As time went on, new plans led to the modernization of the airport. Its name (John Paul II International Airport Krakow-Balice) comes from Pope John Paul II who in 1998 became the official patron of the airport. It is a sort of homage brought to Pope John Paul II who spent many years of his life in Krakow. But soon this name will be history; for many reasons on September 2007 the name of the airport was changed in Krakow Airport im. Jana Pawla II.
If these aspects make you curious, choose Krakow for your holiday and you will discover others secrets. There are many US military stationed throughout Germany, in places such as kaiserslautern and ramstein. When they over there, many of these military personnel struggle to find things to do in kaiserslautern and ramstein , which was why militaryingermany was created, to give our military a choice of things to do.
